India won the WC and the party begins in Mumbai, everyone knows this statement and even after winning the WC in West Indies, Mumbai is having a party.
As a kid I grew up watching cricket. Attached my emotions to it. I used to be extremely happy when India used to win and sad when we used to lose. It hasn’t changed a bit.
You wake up at 5am to watch Ind vs Aus/NZ matches. You stay late to watch Ind Vs Eng/SA/WI matches. I still remember watching Dhoni’s interview late night after India won CT 2013 in Eng. Watching live scores on DD news for when DD national wasn't showing 2007 T20 WC. Bunking the entire class in the 2015 WC semifinal. Getting sad when India was whitewashed in test tour of Eng/Aus. No rational, only emotions.
I never understood why we are so attached to it, but It's definitely full of life.
Suresh Raina’s magic against punjab in IPL(87of 25), Kohali’s batting in Australia, Dhoni’s finishing, yuvraj’s comeback after cancer, Rohit’s 200 after being so much undervalued, Rishbah Pant’s comeback after major accident , Brandom Macclums step out shots in WC 2015, Starc's 1st ball Yorker in Ashes or Andersons beautiful action, you name it and there will be inspiring moments you witnessed while watching this Amazing sport.
It has everything: success/failure/glory/scams. You name it.
It can be brutal. You work hard till then and then loose in the end. Also you can be losing but you don't give up and you come back and end up winning.
It’s full of inspirational stories. It teaches the magic of hard work, consistency and dedication. It teaches the value of being bold, taking risks, and believing in yourself.
Sport shows life in a nutshell. You prepare for a match, you work hard, The one who works harder wins but not always. The one who stands till the end mostly wins. The one believes in himself and can pull off an adverse situation. But isn’t it similar to life? We all felt down at some point, we all worked hard at some point, we all failed after being so close to a goal, we all cried for our goals, we all celebrated when we hit those.
As someone who has very few friends growing up, following sports showed me a way to learn some of the key life lessons like hard work, consistency, self belief and being bold.
I don't think if there were no sports in life I would think the way I do. Remember telling myself what a certain player would do, how they would react, how much hard work they might do. The most inspirational speeches used to come for random interviews of players, about their struggles and how much they worked hard to be what they are.
Lucky to be living in the era where we get to experience sports, there is nothing else like it and it's the season of sport, it's the season of life.
I am saying bye with this dope image when Indian team returned back to Mumbai with trophy.
